DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

On this tour you will visit a total of six places: Zocalo, the Puebla Cathedral, the Palafoxiana Library (access costs an additional MEX 40.00), the Rosary Chapel, street with many sweetshops and a handicraft market called Parian.

The first place we will visit is The Zocalo or Plaza del Zocalo. “Zocalo” is the common name of the main square or plaza in Mexican cities. You can admire the beauty of the Palace and the colorful houses around. You will get an introduction to the the history of Puebla.

The Cathedral, the second place on our visit,  is a large and unique construction in Latinamerica which houses many valuable and interesting decorations, paintings, musical instruments and furniture.

The next stop on our visit, the Palafoxiana Library, founded in 1647, is one of the oldest libraries in Latinamerica, housing many historic books and manuscripts dating back to the 16th century, is reached by climbing about 20 steps. We will buy the entry ticket upstairs next to the entrance. The floor upstairs is level and we can see over 41,000 books in the library. We will walk around in a narrow passageway to admire some of the historical books and the decorative motifs on the bookshelves.

The Rosary Chapel, the next stop on the visit, is located three blocks from the Palafoxiana Library. On our way we will stop to show you some facades and historical structures.

The typical street with many sweetshops is the next place on our visit and we will stop at some shops to taste some traditional sweet and you can buy some to take home with you to savor them with your family and friends. Also, you will get to taste some typical drinks of Puebla and Mexico.

The Parian, the last place on our visit, is about 7 blocks from the street with sweetshops. We will see hundreds of handicrafts made of Puebla. We will spend some time here for you to shop for souvenirs for you or for someone you love.

The tour ends in The Parian but the guide will take you to your hotel.
